Law and Order

You know, as soon as you see that logo, there’s a certain sound that echos through your brain. You can’t help it!

Today’s the day my brother and I are meeting with an elder care attorney to see where we are, where we should be and what I need to do to get M and me there. I thought about taking M to the meeting, but I didn’t want to confuse or upset him. He and I have talked about the need to update our wills – the last time we did them, the children were still living at home – so he knows that there is legal work we need to accomplish.

Then tomorrow, my brother and I will meet with the Veteran’s Administration to see if there is anything there that needs to be done. It’s not fun, gathering together all this paperwork and tracking down all the information that you need, but I suppose it’s necessary.

M didn’t feel well this morning – said he had a headache, but hadn’t taken anything for it. He brought three or four bottles of pain reliever upstairs to where I was trying to get dressed for work (and running behind) and wanted me to tell him what to take.

I sorted through the ibuprofen, acetaminophen, extra-strength migraine formula, etc. to find him what he needed and get him back in bed before I left. When I talked to him at 10 am, he had just woken back up. I guess a little snooze did the trick.

Interesting bit from work – I’m trying to interview some people who are using one of the services we offer and are happy with it for an upcoming magazine article. I went out last week and talked to an older couple and they couldn’t have been nicer. I had a great time talking to them and was looking forward to going back for photographs.

Their nurse stopped me this week to let me know – they don’t want their pictures taken.

What?

The magazine in question is very visual – I really doubt anyone reads the stories. I think people mostly page through it and look at the pictures. And this couple doesn’t want their pictures taken?

Back to square one.
