Get Outta the House!

Happy Valentine’s Day 2020!

M has always been a big proponent of greeting cards – he LOVES to give and receive cards for every special occasion, so I made sure I had a couple of Valentine’s cards for him this morning. The NC Zoo had the cutest cards, featuring some of the zoo animals, free to download and print. I did that for him and they were adorable!

Of course, M had forgotten the day altogether, so he was upset and insisting that he needed to go out and buy something for me.

NO!!

With our budget right now, really – it’s okay. Besides, those cards cost an arm and a leg! So we’ll have “make your own pizza” tonight for dinner and it will be great. Plus, I’ll make him watch more Season 4 of “Outlander” in anticipation of Season 5 starting Sunday.

Bahahahaha!

Last night, there was a huge meeting regarding a local piece of farm property (460+ acres) that is going to be rezoned and developed into residential and commercial property. It will dramatically change the area in which we live, so M and I were going to attend the meeting, along with my mother. As I was getting ready to go, M decided he didn’t want to go.

What?

He had been at the house all day, except for the hour or so he had gone to the gym. He didn’t have a reason for not going, just that he didn’t want to go.

I’ve noticed he wants to stay at home more and more lately . . . and I’m advocating for him to get out of the house more and more lately. Staying inside those four walls isn’t good for him – or anyone.

So, I nagged and cajoled him about the meeting, until he finally agreed to go. And he was glad he did, once it was all said and done.

I think staying in the house and not going anywhere is getting to be a habit and one that he needs to break. Maybe when warmer weather gets here, and he is helping older son with the lawn care business again, that will make a difference.

So my wish for you this weekend – love, chocolate and getting out of the house!
