We took M to his neurologist’s office for a check-up yesterday. He was supposed to have been there for an appointment in April, but all appointments were COVID-canceled. I didn’t think he had been rescheduled, but I looked at his account online last week and saw that there had been an appointment in July. It looked as though the office had called the house to confirm the appointment and “patient canceled.” Continue reading “To The Doctor We Will Go”
The Great Little Round Thing Mystery
I’ve always said I could never be a detective. Someone will say to me, “Did you see the rock on her finger?” And I’ll be thinking, “Oh, did she have hands?”
I’m just not observant. That’s what I’m saying. Continue reading “The Great Little Round Thing Mystery”
Blessings In Disguise
As you know, I’ve dithered for weeks (months) about M and the driving situation. I know it’s something I need to handle and, let’s be honest, I’ve been putting it off. Continue reading “Blessings In Disguise”
What’s It All About, Alfie?
We’re going way back in time for this one . . . back to the piano lessons of my childhood and a book of “popular” songs of the day I was supposed to be learning to play. I don’t really think I learned how to play any of them, to be honest. Continue reading “What’s It All About, Alfie?”
Keep It To Yourself
Yesterday, work went from zero to sixty in about two seconds . . . and NOT in a good way. I work in health care and we are audited every three years by an organization called The Joint Commission. We usually have a pretty good idea about when their surveyors will be coming to visit us and the time leading up to that is always nerve-wracking and fraught. Continue reading “Keep It To Yourself”
Why Am I Working This Hard?
Every Monday is starting to look the same – I have to come to work to recover from the weekend!
And, believe me, I’m not trying to recover from all the “fun” we had. Ha! I wish we had been having some sort of fun or good time. Continue reading “Why Am I Working This Hard?”
The Choices We DON’T Want to Make
Yesterday was an incredibly long day – and I wasn’t sure exactly how that happened. When I got home, after getting my hair cut, the dogs were wildly excited to see me. I knew right away they hadn’t been fed. Continue reading “The Choices We DON’T Want to Make”
The Long and Worky Weekend
What a feeling of satisfaction – to be able to cross items off our never-ending “to do” list. This past weekend was filled with nothing but work, work, work – and it shows, in all the things that we got accomplished. Continue reading “The Long and Worky Weekend”
When Labor Day Means Labor
Really quite excited for this weekend. I’m taking a few days off and putting people to work. M’s older brother and girlfriend from NJ are coming in for a visit and they made the mistake of saying they would be willing to help with chores around the house. Continue reading “When Labor Day Means Labor”
Also flounder, hedge and defer
What is it, exactly, that I’m doing? I wanted to get it right, so I looked it up. Waver is one word. Dither is another. We could add vacillate, hesitate, waffle and shilly-shally, if you wanted to. Continue reading “Also flounder, hedge and defer”
