Supplements . . . vitamins . . . minerals . . . oh my!
The additional supplements I ordered for M as a part of his “The End of Alzheimer’s” regimen finally came in, so I have him all set up to take them throughout the day.
Wow!
There’s magnesium, zinc, Omega-3, Vitamin D and Vitamin K, Ashwagandha, Curcumin and Bacopa – and some of them are to be taken a couple of times a day. So I have his pill caddy set up for him to take some in the morning, some at noon, some with dinner and then some before bed.
The problem is – I’m not there to remind him about it.
Enter – his phone alarm with the LG Acapella “Good morning” song.
If you have an LG phone, you can use this song as your alarm when you set your phone to wake you up in the morning, but I promise you – there is NOTHING more disturbing than to hear this song when it’s dark out and your defenses are low. It will make you jump out of bed to turn it off so quickly – you will be AMAZED at your speed and prowess.
But M and the dogs seem to enjoy it as a reminder to take his pills. According to M, they dance around the house for a few minutes every time it goes off. I’m sure THAT’S worth the price of admission!
I can’t say that I’ve seen a difference in M’s cognitive ability since we’ve started with the pills, diet and exercise program. But he DOES seem to be in a better mood. We have LOTS more laughs around the house. And his symptoms don’t seem to be getting worse, the way they did before we started this program.
Who knows? Maybe after six months, he’ll start making some improvements.
Last night, I had dinner with a friend after work, and I wanted to phone M when I got to the restaurant to remind him that I wasn’t coming straight home. When I picked up my phone, I could see, from one of the apps on my phone, that he wasn’t home, but was driving near where I was.
After a few minutes, he turned and went home, so I asked him about it when I got to the house. Turns out, he had gone to Chick-fil-A before I looked at the phone and I had missed that part of his trip.
Just in case you need a laugh today, I was cleaning out pics on my phone and ran across this oldie, but goody. It made me laugh – again – until I couldn’t breathe. Which just goes to show you, I’m probably still a child, but I love to laugh!
