So here we are, in my favorite time of year. As I was driving to work yesterday morning, there were areas almost completely covered in fog. The sky was gray, but I could see all the trees lining the highway were just starting to turn from green to bright yellow, brilliant orange or vibrant red. It almost made going into work not quite so painful. Continue reading “The Autumn Leaves”
Hoodie – Lost and Found
As we all knew it would, the missing hoodie was found. Everyone can relax now. The all-night vigils can cease.
While we were looking for it on Thursday, I asked M if he had worn it when he went with Older Son (OS) to cut grass, but he told me no – it had been too hot for him to have on his hoodie at that time. Continue reading “Hoodie – Lost and Found”
Possession Obsession
Hoodies, anyone?
M is on a hoodie quest – and it’s not good for any of us. He has a navy blue, zip-up hoodie that he really likes. Actually, he has 20-25 hoodies, but this one in particular holds a special place in his heart. For the moment. Continue reading “Possession Obsession”
Whose Bright Idea Was This?
I just want to know – who had the bright idea to get our house all fixed up and ready to sell? Who thought it would be such a GREAT idea to do all these home improvement projects? Yes, I know it was me – but I’m also aware that this has to be one of the WORST ideas I’ve ever had. Continue reading “Whose Bright Idea Was This?”
Alert and Alarmed
It’s probably been over a year now since I’ve had M set up with all sorts of vitamins and supplements . . . and several times a day in which to take all these lovely pills. I don’t really think they’re doing anything for him, but it gives us the illusion of doing SOMETHING. Continue reading “Alert and Alarmed”
I Don’t Like This
I joined a Facebook group for caregivers of people with dementia and had hoped it would be a good place to learn about options that are out there for us and things I didn’t know about. But all I seem to see and read are horror stories. Continue reading “I Don’t Like This”
Somebody’s Watching Me
About a year ago, when M was still working full time and our house was empty during the day, we purchased three Wyze security cameras. They’re very easy to install, but you have to have an outlet near them as a power source. Continue reading “Somebody’s Watching Me”
Now That’s a Fire!
As much as I enjoy weekends – and I do – there is something about them that is so challenging.
Friday night, as we were sitting in our den to watch the baseball game, it was 63 degrees in the house. Continue reading “Now That’s a Fire!”
Sew What?
I recently joined a Facebook group for caregivers of people with dementia. A lot of the people on there are caring for folks who are in their 80s and 90s, but some of them are in the same situation I am in; caring for someone who is WAY too young to be dealing with this horrible disease. Continue reading “Sew What?”
To Explore New Worlds and New Civilizations
The fact that I know the title comes from the beginning of “Star Trek” is worrying to me. It tells me I’ve been forced to watch WAY too many episodes of the show and the movies and someone, who lives at my house with the first initial M, needs to stop! Continue reading “To Explore New Worlds and New Civilizations”
